Just sat and witnessed them assualt and mug my Rainbow Cichlids. :( My Rainbows were occupying a corner of my 125 underneath the filter quite peacefully. Well it would appear that the Jade Eyeds wanted that corner and were willing to go lip to lip with the Rainbows. They held their ground for a couple of minutes, but they have now been kicked out after a bit of tail swiping and lip locking. The Rainbows now have the rest of the tank by the looks of it but still want 'their' corner back which is only aggrivating the situation.

Don't you just love fish...

ha ha. I always find the smaller ones are more agressive - as long as there are no injuries being inflicted

Any news? I'm thinking of buying one of these bad boys at the weekend! Be alright on his one, or should I get two? I want two of those HRP's off you also tho. I NEEDZ A 3.000L TANK #63###!! :shout:

I would go Jade Eyed or HRP mate tbh, they're closely related which seems to aggrovate the situation and mine didn't particularly get on well together when kept in the same tank.

No update, the rainbows get to go in 'their corner' when the JE's aren't there but then every now and then they decide they want it so the rainbows vacate again.

The female has really coloured up, the male just stays in his little den he has made himself.

If getting two juvenile JE's make sure 1 has a spot on the dorsal fin and the other one doesn't or you will end up with two of the same sex.
