I Think I've Been Sucked In

If it had a clear lid I'd consider it. I'm not sure about money, I'm not worried if it's a few £s just as long and it's not silly.

OMG I remembered the phrase "Betta Box" earlier and searched it and it came up with these 3L tanks! Surely that IS too small?

Anything that you can't filter and heat sufficiently and stabley is too small. However after that it's down the persons perception and whether the fish statistically is likely to life to full lifespan in 'x' sized tank. And also whether the owner cares or not as to the behaviour of the fish... ie. is it able too/does it exhibit normal (none stressed) behaviours.

Judging it by the above I would say it's highly unsuitable. Fish are just fish, some have seemingly greater 'though processes'. And they certainly can learn what their food pots look like lol. But at the end of the day we can't accurately quantify what they think, and so can't say for sure how much stimulation they need. But personally I think a betta needs more stimulation and swimming room than a 3l could ever give it.

What I will say with the smaller tank is a good idea is to turn the filter off when feeding them, it can prevent a spiral of food which then goes unnoticed. Sometimes my Betta actually seems to thoroughly enjoy the "chase" when after food being moved by currents other times it just wants it calm.

Since I'm spending a lot of time at my flat I'm planning on moving my Betta into my 2G tank and into my flat to see how things go. It's cycled, planted and of course heated since the plants are very demanding. It's quite a social fish and I feel bad not giving it much interaction, if I go close up to the tank it will instantly start watching what I am doing and follow me round.

That P@H tank does look like a good deal but a heater might take up quite a lot of space in that tank and make it look some what unattractive, we can wait till Dipsy replies to whether it came with a lid or not.

Edit:

These are bad

The pets at home one is great. Its 11" by 11"for your base and 4.5gallons; that's just what I've upgraded my beta from lol

Did it have a clear lid with it?

Indeed it does :) (I LOVE the tank)

The heater for me didn't take up much space, the actual tank but is an 11" cube. I dont have a full tank shot on the computer but I have one my phone to show what I mean :(

i tried to get one of these at pets at home last week but they said they didnt stock them anymore. good tank for the price.

I have one going spare....

I bought mine from a manky shop down the road to P@H; then P@H got them in £10 cheaper the following week AND then they reduced it by an extra £10-20 ARGHH lol. Not complaining really as I do love the tank.

aa aquariums is the manufacturer of the tanks - you can check their site I suppose to see if they are shipping them oversees yet.
