I Found Some Ebjd!

So I've been searching high and low for some EBJD, and have been considering travelling quite some distance to find them. I passed my LFS today (amwell aquatics) and thought I would pop in and have a look around, to my surprise I noticed 2 of them in a tank, un-priced. They were around 1"-1.5". So I asked for the price..... £40 each!! Needless to say I passed them up on the offer.

I keep saying they are bleeding expensive now!! £40 each is cheap! I looked about and i just couldnt sell them for less than £59 each minimum! Though saying that, i was nice to a regular customer and sold them both for £100...

Seen some but ugly ones from Singapore! Seens some 'ok' ones from there too but they only look good from a few meters away, either that or they found someone who bred them or more likely still, had them in ages and couldnt shift them and dropped the price lower and lower.

Only small 1.5" - 2" - He did warn me though Jeff Rapps is renowned for exaggerating slightly. So expect them small. Have to let him know quick though as he is placing his large order very soon.

£18 each and common here in Taunton, Somerset i got mine from watermarque last August but he turned out ugly after he grew out of his marbled juvi colours so i sold him to my mate for a tenner, who loves him.

My opinion is they are only pretty as Juvis (i know many will disagree)

I straight out dissagree with you HGS1981 lol. But as i've said many times on this forum, its entirely down to the breeding and the two parent fish involved. Some turn out ugly, others turn out beautifull.

Uh oh, another with Jeff Rapps fish. I'm not overly keen on his fish, especially his Jacks i've seen. Will be interesting to see how they mature. I warned mattlee of my worries when he announced he bought a Jeff Rapps EBJD, only time will tell how they turn out. Good luck with them!

40 pounds= $65 . No way would I pay that for a pet store ebjd. You have no clue what you are getting and how it will turn out. I have a but ugly lfs ebjd I paid $20 for that's 12 pounds. He looked great as he started to grow but as he grew more he got really ugly and is now only 4" and not growing much more he is 1+ years old now.

Look for a breeder don't pay that for a small ebjd that might not even live and if he does he might turn out to be like mine.

Jeff imports him ebjd he does not breed them so it will be hit or miss. The only way to know what you are getting is if you know the breeder and see the parents and older batch of fry. I enjoyed my ebjd they are good fish even if they turn out ugly. I would never buy one again.

Yeah, I didn't pay it. Someone obviously have though as they have now both sold within days of arriving. They have 6 more arriving tomorrow from same source at same price. If it was 40 for a pair I'd have them. Heres a video I took of one in the store.
