I kind of agree with HGS1981 a LITTLE too,
they do look better when young but they're still nice when adults too (well, some of them).

have you seen james adult ebjd its absolutely stunning. this is the reason i got one

Problem with EBJDs are numbers of breeders using interbreeding to get the final result...the health and potential of EBJD in general is very hit and miss...I purchased one when at 2", wouldnt advise it, it had many health issues and a prominent beak...purchased one at 8", absolutely gorjus, but never settled in my tank.

Jeff Rapps specialises in SA/CA Cichlids, the fish I've had from him and Don Conkel have only ever been naturally occurring and of top quality.

mine was purchased at about an inch and its never had any issues what so ever. so far....

its now about 3.5 inches and getting quite boistrous. its from jeff rapps

a lot of people do have ebjd's just die on them without warning eben at 4-5 inch but i guess its like any fish thats bred for its colour, they get weaker and weaker the more inbred they get

James is verminator yeah? if so, i sure have seen it and it made me want to get one too
but ofc i dont have enough tanks or room for tanks YET lol

Indeed i am the James that matt is referring too.

If you want an ABJD, or anyone for that matter, just make sure you get them from a reliable/known source that has specimens of good quality, from a good strain of parent fish.

Ofcourse my dislike for Jeff Rapps fish is biased and opinionated, that aught to be remembered
