hi ive known about this forum and have enjoyed using it for a couple years now. i enjoy looking at the monthly competions. today i was looking and i thought hey why isnt there different categories for the competion. i mean i havent seen a malawi cichlid tank or an all live bearer tank win yet. it would be a cool idea if there was different categories for the tanks so someone who isnt particularly good at keeping plants alive ( like myself ) or someone who can only get a limited choice of fish in theyre area may take part in the competition.i completely understand if it cant be done due to website limitations. please comment away i would love to hear other peoples views on this subject.

i think it would make the mods very busy and im sure they have enough on their hands..... or so they say
the competition is just for fun and it really doesnt matter on the stocking or whether you have rocks, plants, fake plants etc etc etc etc, if the tank looks good it will get votes. the thing is a lot of people see a planted tank thats set up right and fall in love with it....
to do different catagories where would you stop...?

planted
planted high tech
planted low tech
non planted
artificial plants
species tanks (of which there will be hundreds/thousands)
coldwater tanks
marine tanks

i meant to say just add two or 3 more categories. like have planted, african rift lakes, south american, you know just something that covers a pretty broad spectrum and already has enough people entrested in it.
