Hey,
About how many pounds of sand do i need for my 55 gallon tank and what kind? I'm planning on putting corals in, live rock, etc... I want that really white powdery sand. Thats argonite right?

Aye, Argonite sand. How deaper layer do you want, and what are the base dimentions?

All the best

The tank is 48"X12". I have a wet/dry filter for a 150 gallon I'm going to using for it, so i dont think i need that deep of a sand bed. Then again, what do i know, this is only my second reef tank.
Thanks

it all depends on the style of filtration and the look you are going for. I's use somewhere around 40-60lbs, giving you a 1.5"/2" layer. that's just a personal preference. you can have anything from a bare bottom tank to a nice 8" DSB
