hi,
how many fish can i have in a 50L tank
fish around 1 or 2 inches long
thanks

Given how barbs and tetras are social fish, they should not be kept in numbers less than 6 of their own species, in a bigger tank I would prefer to see a group of 10+ for such fish.

However, what dimensions does this 50l tank have? At best it will be just slightly smaller than my Juwel Korall60, which is 60x30x30cm and holds 54l before adding sand/gravel/bogwood/ornaments.

I'd struggle to give you a responsible suggestion in regard to six 5cm (2") tetras or barbs that could live in a 60x30x30cm for life, they are far too active.

For something quite hardy and sedate, the species that jumps to mind would be six X-Ray Tetra, found in a wide range of water chemistry in the wild. But only if the tank is 60cm long, a squat cube tank of ~40cm is too small for them.
