How Do You Justify Spending £20 On A Piece Of Wood?

a week away in the lake district! I am least hoping I'll find some suitable free wood up there...

GENIUS!!!! me and my partner want a week away and I want to go abroad but she wants to stay in the UK I am so using it as a wood hunting trip now!!

Only reason he doesn't have one currently is he still can't ride after the accident.

I actually don't mind the expensive hobbies - at least we both have hobbies lol, just my hobby is significantly less likely to kill me...I guess it's that woman thing - I'd feel guilty if I spent that much on plants but then it turned out someone needed new shoes or our washing machine exploded or something!

http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.php?...roducts_id=1513 - thats pretty good prices especially if you need "padding" to build up a scape tempted to get £10 worth just to see what its like could definatly use it in my tanks particularly my small one it really does look just blurgh at the moment. Fighting the temptation not to go to LFS for wood and plants as we speak! I really cant I only went yesterday and then they really will think I am wierd!

its a lot of £ but it will last forever and totaly enhance what youve done already, i would rather spend it on a piece of wood than a fish to be honest, but if the budget wont allow it just now, just wait a while, i bet an even better bit will appear anyway :)

It's a better long term inverstment than fish and plants. They die, wood won't, and a nice piece will always have a buyer if you decide to sell it at any point.

what about if it rotts

It shouldn't rot LOL

pet store near me does wood (not fancy sumatran/redmoor though) for £3.50 a kilo which is pretty decet, picked up a nice little piece today.
