Honey going black?!?

Just got home to find that my honey has started to go black, i think its a male as it has a bubblenest near him and is very protective. But its started to go a very dark colour all over its body... Is this normal?

I think its the colour they go when they want to breed or when they get frisky or it also could be that he/she is ageing

That's his breeding colors... Sounds like he's decided he'd like to spawn
