Not over a fishes health and lifestyle it shouldnt.

You may be saving yourself $30 now, but you will be loosing yourself $20 when they have passed on.

$20 down and nothing to show for it?

What a bargain!

I will be getting the tank soon, tank is not the problem, the stand is, all the tank stands are ugly as heck, so i will get one from IKEA which sells furniture, so i will get one stand that has to be ....

right size
right price
sturdy
can take the weigh
I really don't think an Ikea stand will hold a tank (with water, substrate, etc). It just pressed chip wood they use with pre-holes.
But I hope it works for you!

I admit I don't know all that much about clown loaches, but from what I have read other places, they tend to grow pretty quickly, especially younger ones. If you plan on keeping those 5 fish in that small tank for at least 1 month, I think you will be pretty lucky to not have several dead clown loaches. Saving money is great. I am all for saving money since I am not made of it. However, I agree, that one should not try to save money at the expense of the lives of your fish. If they all die, or even if just a couple die, you didn't really save anything did you? Just my opinion. Good luck!

I also have to agree with the above posting.
SOmeone once told me that a common pleco would grow to the size of his enviroment. The "person" was selling me because they are cheap, right?
He grew to the size of my finger tips to my elbow. He started off in a 10 gallon, then to 55 gallon, 72 gallon, and now lives the rest of his days in a 120 gallon.
Anyways, my point is that do get that bigger tank ASAP!
:D

i got warrety =D

EDIt: besides this is like a rescue mission, THEIR TANKS were over stocked too so yea...it's like that the clowns are in the same tank except they get treated better and no bullying.

btw do you think EVERY person who buys clown loaches have a good enought tank to house them? they will be housing them in a 10 gallon tank for their whole life, while mine will be in a 10 gallon tank in 1 month..get my drift?

Immature, ignorant and incompetent. It's a shame such passive, harmless creatures are given the same respect of life as you give yourself.

hi

kevin007, i undersatnd your situation. and i know that sometimes you see a certian discount at an lfs and you just can't pass it up. i admit that 5 clwon laoches for $20 is way more than a good dealk, as they are uusally sold for a lot more than that.

but 5 in a 10g for a month is just..not going to work  while lfs always overstocks their fish, it's doubtful that all that amoutn will remain in there for a month, most would have been sold by then. If they can't sell a tank of fish in a month that really tells you something.

I agree that clown loaches are very passive, but when put into such a small tank any fish will start to show aggression and attack each other.

You seem like a good person, and the clown loacehs really didn't do anyting to be crammed in like that. Also i really don't like how you commented that "EVEN if all dies except one, still a bargain =P" and "HAHAHA at least i have kept them for a month =P" that's pretty rude becuase it doens't seem like you really care for their well being at all.

Do you have a firend that has a big tank who can hold them for you? or maybe your lfs can hold them for a bit of money until your tnak comes in?

that's the point, no one i can give to for the time being and i was being sarcastic....

well, my lps said that they wont hold them and the clowns have hole in the head in the tanks, these five will get it sooner or later if i dont rescue them

i dont' think tj was trying to flame you at all.
what you think is not that important, what the truth is, is yes important

IF I CALL U IGNORANT AND IMMATURE do you think i am flaming?

yes but by "recusing" them you are making htem very aggravated. I"m afraid they won't make it in a months' time to tell you the truth -_- sooner or later like this one of their immune system is going to crash, ich is going to break out, and spread to all the other little guys. IMO you are really on thin ice with them
