Hmmm

I hate to re-itterate over old ground, but with a 55gal setup there is still a hell of a lot of fish you plan to get, making it in my opinion again overstocked. Saying this though it is only my opinion, and regularly upgrading your tank may make it work.

Saving a lot of money, time and effort, why dont you buy a 100gal setup skipping the 55gal one?
it is because i like aquascaping :D

this is not really my PLAN PLAN it's just my, dream plan, so if you dont agree what do you think i should not add?

Well its true to say bigger is better. If you can, get as bigger tank as possible. It is healthier for all the fish, easier to maintain and a lot more rewarding. Bala Sharks can get extremely big, while red tail sharks extremely aggressive and terratorial with eachother.

I would personally have your 5 Clown Loaches, 8 Tiger Barbs (you can get some really cool albino and green variaties) alongside a red tail shark and perhaps a bristlenose pleco, to clean the place up

well i am going for a asia tank if no one noticed, i thought about flying foxes (aka siamese algae eater)

maybe this would work?

5 clowns
6 flying fox
8 tiger barbs
1 red tailed shark

i mean this is staying like this for ONLY one year, is it ok?

Flying Foxes I do not have much experience with so that may be something you want to research. Alternatively some Otto's or Peppered Corries in a small shoal would be beneficial.

Apart from that though, in my opinion that will work effectively

I will probably just keep it to

2 silver sharks (bala)
5 clowns
8 tiger barbs
1 rtbs

form what i read tthe red tail will not bother the tiger barbs and the red tail will become good frind on the loaches so .... and i have kept one from the past, it's colors were so dark! it was so darn beutiful! then i gave it to a friend and now i want him back! :-(

i dont know if he would bully the balas tho?????

anyone have experience?

Btw i like to have bio type tanks so...

first 10 gallon

4 sterbai cory
3 guppies

2nd 10 gallon (breeder)

14 fry in breeder nets

5 clown loaches (temporary)

2 cories

Comming soon biotype tank

Asian tank (55 gallons)

5 Clown loaches
2 Bala sharks
8 tiger barbs (4 albino, 4 green)
1 red tailed black shark

Sounds like an awesome list.
The RT will need an established area, good hiding spots etc. But you probably know that.

Balas get huge!
I don't know if you can mix 2 kinds of sharks though. I have personally never heard of it, and when I have, it doesn't work.
what do you mean by an bio tank?
I have never heard of that before and would love to know!

bio-tank, not sure but i am pretty sure that that is what it is called

it means a tank based on a place, for example, asia, you will have to get fish, type of wood, plants from asia, it is basically a similator tank

and anyone here have experience with rtbs and silver sharks?

in my reserch fish that are bigger than the rtbs, the rtbs will not bother?

Hi :)

Well I used to have a rtb shark and I currently have a rainbow shark(quite similar). They can be very aggressive and territorial. I don't know if I would get one if you already have five clown loaches. I have found that they generally don't tolerate other bottom feeders that well and may cause some stress, or worse...fatalities. Now I recently added two cory cats to my tank(but I also had/still have a backup plan if it doesn't work out) and so far so good...so there are exceptions.

Yes they are better with larger faster fish but depending on the species of those fish and the temperment of your rtb shark....you still may have problems.

Now as for adding more than one shark with rtb sharks...don't add the same species. I know that Bala's can be quite timid on their own but if they are in a group(two or three) they are much better off. I have never kept both species together..and I'm not sure how successful people have been. I'm sure someone else can help you out with that. But it's really irrelevant because Bala's get too big for a tank that size.

acually, clown loaches do not like to be bothered so

the clowns will acually chase the rtbs around the tank in laps from what i heard

You can't keep balas in there. Minimum 120 gallon to keep them properly.

P.T.
I agree and should have included that in my last post.
Done. :D

The word you're looking for is "biotope".. but your definition is spot on. ;)

I've heard that a rainbow or RTBS would constantly harass the balas... my rainbow is fine with my tiger barbs and flying fox though. If you plan on a flying fox, get just one; they can be territorial.
