i was think ...is there such a light where one day its bright and white to keep the plants happy and by a flick of a switch it can turn into a night blue kinda colour for the evenings is there such a light? i would get another light but it won't fit with the other light :P

i want a light that can give energy for my plants and in the evenings give the tank a relaxing feel if you know what i mean? anyone know of one?

i know what you mean but do not think there is, i have a sun glo , powerglo , aqua marine blue all under my hood, so i can flick and choose, sometimes all three,,,,is the tank one of these named brands?

Install a blue cold cathode to the existing hood. They are very cheap and last a long time.

They make tank look like this at night

are they waterproof? and how would i attach it to the hood if there is only support for one?
No they aren't waterproof, but that shouldn't matter if you have a lid on your tank. Moisture should not get up into your lighting unit no matter what kind it is.

Heres the DIY thread for them. Cold cathode is the proper name for neons. These run independently of your other lights. You mount the tube in your existing fixture. This means you will have a second powercord coming from your fixture.

Silicon them next to your current lights, then turn them on at night. Heres my fixture for the 4 foot tank above, the arrows point to the cathodes
