I have a friend that is having a big problem with the PH levels, the ph of the water coming from his tap is almost 10.0

Anyway we have started with a peat nugget treatment, and PH lowering chemicals, but still can not get it below 8.0. Anyone know of something else to try to get it down in the 6.5 range? I would hate to have to haul my 7.6ph tapwater water an hour to him every week, that would get old fast for sure, but if I have to I will....

He is keeping piranahs, and has been having problems with them being ill all the time, and I believe it is the ph thats doing them in....

Any help please?...

Thanks

Yikes with tap water being as high as it is, he will have a losing battle with every water change.
The only thing I can recommend is this stuff that I bought at my LFS. It will automatically bring the ph to 6.5 (I think the name was 6.5 down). Firstly, bring the tank to the ph that they want, s...l..o..w..l..y. Too fast might damage the fish. Then with every water change, adjust the ph in bucket to the ph in tank so that their is no ph shock. I don't know anything about phrinnans, but can they adjust to the PH?
Tell him, good luck!
