My clown fish are looking kinda weird i need help! I have them for some weeks but now they look like they have e embossed skin?( You can see some white spots too, idk if its just the light) And are losing some colour on the top, they're getting kinda dark and one of them looks kinda on the same spot . They're eating well, i feed them twice a day and they're the only ones in the aquarium plus some anemones that you can see on the pic. I need to know if i should worry and if anyone knows what this is. The salinity is 1.026 and the temperature is 26° Celsius (which was what they recommended at the store) they have aprox 1,5 inches and the aquarium is a 10 gal

i don’t know if this will help, but you should get them at least a 20 gallon tank. 10g is too small for 2 clownfish, and it’s hard to keep a good salt tank that small

In an emergency situation like this, the first thing to do is a large water change, at least 50% of the total tank volume, making sure that the new replacement water matches the tank temperature and salinity, and to use a water conditioner.

Next, do you have a water testing kit? Please test the water in the tank and let us know the numbers, especially for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.

@Chad and @Colin_T are folks who definitely know their saltwater, so hopefully they can help further!

How long has the tank been set up for?

Was the tank cycled before the fish were added?
Cycling a tank is where you add a source of ammonia and allow the good filter bacteria time to grow in the filter. It usually takes 4-6 weeks and should be done before any livestock is added to a marine tank.

How often are you feeding the fish and what do you feed them?

--------------------
The fish have a bit of excess mucous and that is usually caused by poor water quality or chemicals in the water that irritate the fish.

As mentioned by AdoraBelle, test the water for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH. If the ammonia or nitrite are above 0ppm, do a 75-90% water change and gravel clean the substrate every day until the levels are 0ppm.

If you are using artificial marine salts to make up the salt water, make them up at least 24 hours before using them.

If using chlorinated tap water to make the salt water, make sure the new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it is added to the tank.

The salinity can be between 1.020 and 1.026. I used to run my tanks around 1.024-1.025.
