Help With My Cold Water Tank

question: can i put sand that goes into tropical tanks into my cold water tank?? it makes it look so much more effective but just wasnt sure if i was able to do this incase the sand will kill my fishies.
please help...

The sand will be fine whatever temperature tank you put it in as long as it is safe for fish in general.
