Help! Did the pet store swindle me?

I just brought what was supposed to be 5 White cloud mountain minnows...but now that I brought them home and looked at them...it appears there's only 1 mountain minnow and 4 of another kind...maybe a zebra danio? Or am I being dumb and it's actually 4 females and 1 male?

Very new to the hobby, so appreciate the help!

If it is 4 of one kind and 1 mountain minnow, will they get along and be fine or do I need to return them because the 1 by itself needs to school with it's own kind?

Definitely a Zebra Danio. This fish needs to be in groups of 6 or more, and can become fin nippers if they aren’t in said group.

How big is your tank?

Never trust the “advice” of a pet store worker, as they are often very wrong.

Agree, three are definitely Zebra Danios, the other two may be WCMM but I wouldn't swear to that.

I see 4 Zebra Danios, and 2 WCMM. But as you said, I’m not 100% sure.

I don't see any white clouds. I see zebra danios and some sort of rasbora.

Agree with Colin. No White Clouds in sight.

The rasbora looks to be a blackline rasbora. Also called the red tailed rasbora. Rasbora borapetensis
