You cant leave us here all alone! Stick with it girl dont give up-youll feel better in the morning when youve had a chance to think about it.

FX5 thats the one he sucked in his breath and said, oh a couple of hundred pound.... think he thinks of a number and doubles it (lfs).. cheeky bugger lol
i love the look of that filter, i was admiring it in PFK mag yesterday, and certainly claims to do an excellent job. wow 2,130 LPH- i must be getting old,as that excites me!!

shelagh xxxx

Don't beat yourself up too bad, it happens to all of us. Just last week I had a big mature male bristlenose decide he didn't like water anymore. This is the same fish I found on the floor 8 months ago, almost completely dried out, that I nursed back to health. Slow learner.

My oscar messed up the eye of a large common plec months back, they would spar on occasion. The oscar is smart, realized the 15" plec couldn't see on the one side, and basically tore the snot out of him overnight. Been a rough year for plecs, no more tankmate for the oscar.

I've melted heaters before, dropped fish that were breeders transferring them to another tank, caused a nice creek across the basement floor on numerous occasions, the list is endless. I would actually have to walk around the fishroom to remember all the disasters & near injury causing incidents I've had.

Must have been a massive shock, but sounds like the fish are gonna be fine, and from what you have said I can't see why the three spot won't make a full recovery either. :)

Definitely look around for good quality second hand externals, I managed to get my eheim off ebay last year. Wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise.

Oh Shelagh, if i did a list of my top c*ck up's in fish keeping you'd be laughing your socks off (in a respectful way i am sure, lol), that includes plain out smashing a 300 litre tank that was full of water and fish, melting loads of heaters, and also accidently poisoning and killing about 15 newly purchased tetra's one day (not funny obviously!), honestly dear, it's because of my mistakes i am determined to succeed, but i been exactly where you are now Shelagh, i hope time heals a little bit for you like it has for me.

As for Oscar's, they can get incredibly sulky and play dead, i seen it before!

PS - i'm also suprised i havent elecrocuted myself yet, had some serious fun and games with heater's in the past (water changes late at night, after beer, bare footed, plugging stuff in, some electric shocks, all sorts), thats all true by the way (kind of reformed now!)

yes, i will do, but think i need to get one sooner rather than later now, as i dont want to have to do a massive clean up again ( well not to todays extent, ill have a shifty thru ebay amd the local freeads etc tonight, failing that it will the fx5 or ex1200, both on buy it now, with reliable delivery

the fx5 is amazing,,,,you get sponge filters around the edges but have to put your own media in centre cases!!!!i brought a pond filter media and it works wonderful!!!!easy to set up following a step by step dvd with filter,,,,once set up it runs for 1minute turns itself of then back on after 1min exspelling all caught up air,,does this daily to exspael air,,inteligent filter ans so easy to clean and maintain

glad you've decided not to give up!! i have the ex700 model, and it was really easy to put together and use (once I'd realised I hadn't turned it on at the mains ;))

hope the fish are ok! :)

Don't go shel.... we need you!

Seriously, we all have made mistakes. I totally agree with miss wiggle though. Just cut back on your tanks to maybe just one big one and take it from there.

Don't loose faith ;)

Oh whooops, your place does sound a bit like a war zone from time to time

You wont give up I'm sure  ....I'd miss your input and pm's

Hey, I put in some meds just as the taxi arrived to take us to the airport thinking they would make things ok while we were away. They might have done had I put my glasses on first :look: Put LOADS more in than needed. Seeing the Dwarf Goramis float by on it's side as I was adding the diluted bucket of meds should have warned me all was not well. Then the wife said 'they shouldn't be dashing around like that?

It was retorted to with something like "Thanks for pointing out the bleedin' obvious"

Ever tried to do a 75% water change with a taxi outside and an absalutely manic spouse giving you what for!

Pick up, dust off and carry on gal (you know you want too)
