Ok I know about fish but don't know jack about frogs. :dunno: I got 2 green tree frogs of some sort. I need to know it all. Likes and dilikes everything I can learn.

Thanks for any help.

I know a few basics about them. Obviously a secure cage, heated and plenty of climbing and more importantly, hiding places for them. They'll eat fruit fly larvae, grubs and other insects and you should have some clean, dechlorinated water in a bowl, cup or something for them to drink and keep moist with. Also, they need a certain amount of light but I don't know how much or how long.

Thanks for the info Teelie. I am going to build it a amphibian tank out of a old 10g tank I got. I was thinking I could keep like 6 to 10 of them in it. But that may change if it is over crowding. I am going to try to find out some stuff on the net about these frogs.

But if anyone else can help I would really like it, cause I am lost and if I can't fig out how to take care of them real fast, I will have to let them go.

keep in mind that tree frogs are arboreal, so a tall tank is best. you'll need plenty of vines and foliage for them to climb on and hide. also, you'll need to mist the tank a few times a day, keep a shallow dish of water in there, and get a gauge to measure your humidity. they are nocturnal. you could probably have 2 or 3 in a tank with the footprint of a 10 gal. males do croak sometimes. just so you know.

here's some links to some care sheets with better info:

oh, and i have all these links because i did a great deal of research on these guys months back. i bought an 18 gal tall for them....... but i ended up putting green anoles in it instead.....

I would get frogs or geckos but my girlfriend is against it for now. She thinks they're cute but doesn't want them in the house. Just like fish though, I just have to bide my time and ply her to my way of thinking.

I'll probably get a gecko if I can convince her.

Well thanks for all the help. After reading it and doing some searchs on my own. I decided I could not house them right now. So I let them go in the yard. Maybe later I will set up the right tank for them, like a 75g ocotagon tank with a big fake tree. Well again thanks for your time and effort even thoe I didn't keep the frogs I still got good use out of it.
