Hi all, sorry about all the posts lately, I just want to make this upgrade successful.

I'm after some pygmy corys (6-8 of the little guys), but I know corys like sand. Would a fine gravel such as:

This

be ok? Or could I go for half gravel half sand? It's just I love gravel, and I've found in the work tank that sand is a pain to keep up, and I can't afford to be playing about buying different filters until I find the right one that doesn't leave poop all over the top of the sand.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Willow

If you could work it so you have half & half it would be better.
Corys do love sand, mine spend most of their time head down shuffling through it

You can have a few patches of gravel, but you really do need it to be mostly sand.

I had panda cories in a half/half tank but they still dug in the gravel parts and wore their barbels away (I feel really, really bad about that and have them on all sand now)

Really, without wanting to sound harsh, if you can't cope with sand, maybe you shouldn't have cories? It is their home, not yours...

I have 8 Corys on fine pea gravel and have no issues. Agreed they do love sand but thats not to say they dislike gravel
