Yes I know. I gave them the flakes I usually feed my fish with but they're too shy to swim to the surface.

Yep I did that. I rehomed a dwarf gourami there and he eats anything. Must be enjoying the variety

Strange the granulated fish food doesn't stay in the mid-range of the tank. It just sinks after it's floated on the surface for a while.

My fish aren't really eating them. Or maybe they do when I'm not around, they're extremely shy!

No it isn't supposed to stay floating in the middle. It sinks slowly, as opposed to being floating food or sinking pellets, in order to give mid-water feeders a chance to feed on it on it's way down.

I have some fine granulated food that I use as part of a mixed diet(traditional flakes and some crispy type things, pellets, 'tablets', dried bloodworm all thrown in for good measure). I quite enjoy watching my fish grab the granules as they fall.

Mine don't touch the flakes at all 'cept the dwarf gourami. Tomorrow is veggie Friday LOL will see if they like peas.

I have no idea whether my cherry barbs "grab" at the granules or not. They touch them with their mouths and then the granule continues falling... haha.
