My Gourami was being bullied by my Mollies. A few days ago, it looked like they had bit a chunk of his tail off, so I put him in a hospital tank. I've been medicating the tank with maracyn. Today it started to look like a cottony fungus, and it seems like it is spreading to the body. Am I doing the right thing by using maracyn? I don't think its body slime fungus, because that usually starts at the body, and then moves to the fins. This is the only sign of sickness he's showing, he's swimming, eating, and his color is fine. What do you think this is?

Are you using the meds properly? I never removed the carbon from my filter the first time I had fin rot in my tanks, and I found out later that I had made that mistake.

Perhaps you could try a different medication. I think Melafix works really well. it treated all three of the goldfish I had in my 10 gallon a while back, and they were pretty bad.
