Gourami

Ok so, my powder blue gourami settled in nicely in my tank. he spent his first few days jus loitering in a corner and now hes swimming up and down along the glass. Is that normal behavior? lol I'm new with gourami's...

Is it up and down in one place or just general up and downing?

If it tends to be in one place I'd say the fish could be a little distressed. How's your planting in the tank? Gourami like him love floating plants and ones they can lurk in

lol Jenny, you're always there to save the day. i just recently upgraded the planting in my tank. the up and downing sarted in one area but now he goes all over. I'm pretty sure hes doing fine now.

Gouramis to me have weird behaviour but are a great fish. Mine likes to stay in the back all the time. He'll go down in the back at night a nd come up in the back during day time.

I lost my male honey G on Saturday and his GF was flying round and round and round the biorb all day yesterday
She wasn't doing it this morning I'm glad to say so I'll give it a week or so then get her another male and a girly to lurk with

awww im sry about your loss. I hope your female feels better soon! I'm sure when u get some friends for her to lurk with, she'll feel a lot better. And since my 20g is pretty much stocked to its limit, i was thinking about gettin another 20g or so to get the black phantoms!!! Those tetras are unbelievable!! I'll keep you posted on if and when I get a chance to do so =D

Cool! I'll give you a tip with the black phantom tetra...get more girls than boys else the boys will harass the pants off the girls by displaying and chasing like mad. The females have reddish small fins near their tails compared to the males who have clear or black ones. Your LFS should know the difference
