Good Online Volume Calculator

just looking for a decent reliable and RIGHT online calculator for tanks. My tank at the moment had 3 different volumes on different sites!!!

Ours is pretty much accurate (see top of the page near the banner on the left). Although you should always take an inch or two off of the height cause you obv don't fill to the brim.

To get your tank volume..

Length x height x width (all in inches) divided by 231...it gives your volume it in US Gallons

They are all different because one company's bowfront is different from another's. Same thing with hex tanks. Everyone gets the rectangular ones right -- though you need to investigate whether it outputs in U.S. or U.K. gallons. A liter is the same world around.

Getting an exact value really isn't all that important. In the end, there really isn't that big of a difference + or - a few gallons. Besides, unless you calculate the volume of all the rocks and sand and decorations, etc. the value is really only an estimate anyway.
