I have been looking into bowl aquariums (invertebrate only) as a low-maintenance replacement for one of my tanks. I have found one that looks good quality and is a decent size. The issue is calculating the water volume inside. As any volume calculator I find only accepts measurements for cylinder or cube aquarium shapes. Can anyone help with this? TIA

Look up Sphere Volume Calculator. That will give you the total volume if you fill it up to the top. As you will have air at the top, look up Spherical Cap Calculator. Deduct the Cap from total volume will give you what you're after, approximately.

I have no maths or formula to offer but have a shrimp bowl of a similar size. With a decent amount of substrate (gravel/soil/sand for low maintenance), it’s around 20 litres.
