:-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( This is such a happy time!

Finally tested the water this morning. After multiple threads and weeks of trouble, nitrite and ammonia were finally at 0! PARTAY!!!

Let me just say thanks to all whom helped, especially three-fingers for giving me the mature media.

Give it a couple more days to be on the safe side, before adding fish :good:

Congrats :D What fish are you going to get in a couple of days?

Most probably some gouramis. I take it a betta is not compatible with neon tetras, 2 rasboras and 2 platies?

Im going to LFS on monday BTW, and alex, such a good time that im going to be recovering for a while. ^^

Just did another test,

Ammonia 0.25
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate 10

Should i worry about ammonia or will it go down in a day or two?
The fact i have 5 more nitrates then yesterday means something good.

Hopefully the ammonia will convert quite quickly, but keep an eye on it.

You might get away on a betta with rasboras and possibly neons, but I would say no with platies (but it all depends on the personality of the betta in question) without trying it you wont know.

Yeah, i would much rather get a betta then a pair of gouramis.

I find liquid tests hard to read. Do you have the liquid over the white background? Facing the sun? Each position makes it lighter or darker, but i tihnk ammonia is actually less then 0.25, more like 0.1

Hold it up against the white of the card or as has been suggested here against some white paper and have the light source behind you.
