Glass Test Tubes

It depends what plastic they are made from - in UK PET/PETE is considered food grade container plastic and is probably more durable than some of the others.
I wouldn't stick chemicals in any old plastic and as an aromatherapist I would never ever use any essential oils stored in plastic as contamination occurs both ways - plastic to contents and vice-versa.

I bought the API test tube replacements along with a little test tube rack. Since I have multiple tanks, I now just have a rack with a row of tubes for each tank. I can do all my tests at once without rinsing and refilling. A real time-saver if you have a lot of tanks!

My test kits tend to expire well before they come close to being used up. In fact I have not used any of them now in the past 20 or so months. And I have just gone from 20 to 18 tanks. As noted sbove, the one tank I need to monitor constantly uses a continuous digital monitor. I could have bought 1 thermometer, 1 tds hand held tester and 16,000 API pH tests for the same money. :)
