Glass Cats Safe With An Ellioti?

What do people think to Glass Catfish being kept with an adult Ellioti? Safe or not? He has never bothered any dithers before, but he don't think much to other cichlids such as adult HRP's, although he doesn't bother the Thomasi dwarfs? He's weird!!

Glass catfish do best with very peaceful fish. If they are getting chased around, it will be very bad for them. If you are going to try it out, you will need a school of a minimum of 6 of them. They grow to 4+ inches so need a tank of at least 50 gallons IMO. They also require plants and rocks to hide behind because light makes them timid. They also require perfect water conditions. You will know immediately if they are stressed out or if the water isn't perfect because they will develop white patches on their body. They are all wild caught and so sometimes may be finicky about accepting flake food. I was lucky with mine, they eat very well. I would say try it out just as long as you have a back up plan should it not work out.

That's fantastic mate, thankyou very much. They would be going into a 3ft 180 litre tank. Generously planted with wood and rocks as decor.

Yeah it would probably be a group of 6 or 7, but it was just a thought as everytime i see them they're always together in the shops. Got a group of 11 Harlequin Rasbora's so the cats may have to wait.
