Fluval Question

i have a fluval 2 plus and i was wondering how do you make the bubbles come out? i know your suppose to attach the hose to the nozzle but how do i make the bubbles come out?

i dont think that filter gives out bubbles, just a jet of water from the powerhead

yeh im thinking that its not supposed to give out bubbles, but in my fluval u4, theres a lid right at the top of the filter, that should be exposed out of the water and opened. thats how the u4's work.

Not sure the fluvals do that.

I bought an additional powerhead that runs for and hour in the morning and again in the evening to help with surface agitation and oxygen transfer. You need to introduce air into the outlet flow, I guess you could 'mod' the original with some (5ml) fine plastic piping.

The power head gives my new Dannios something else to play with as well, they love the extra flow rate it gives.

Fluval U4's can be fully submersed, the top does not need to be out of the water

If your right, my U2 must be screwed by now. Fully submersed, lid shut.

Why would it need to be open? All sorts of contaminants can fall straight onto your filter bacteria?

The Fluval 'U' Ranges if im not mistaken are all fully submergable, thats the whole point if an internal filter, there would be no reason to keep the lid open, as what would be the point in having a lid?

yes, i agree they are all fully submeragble, but to allow air to flow in with the water the top of the filter should be out of the water or piping should be used
