I've ordered some of this as I can't find it in local stores. I'm gonna use it to try eradicate my black hair algae (which is spreading really fast). I've read on the net to dose twice or even three times the recommended amount to the tank but what do you do? I'm thinking of dosing twice the amount. Do I just do this til the algae hopefully goes?

Apparently painting it directly onto the algae itself will kill it. A job for a Sunday, I think.

Try the spot dose approach by turning off your filter for around 15 mins and using a syringe to inject straight onto the algae.
I've found a normal dose every other day sorts out the algae in a few weeks anyway.
I tried removing a plant from the aquarium and spot dosing it but it was obviously too strong neat as the next day the plant had practically melted and had huge brown holes in it!
Be careful if you have elodea or vals as they may melt also.

Ok, thanks guys. I was advised to spot dose it before but I'm only getting the flourish excel now so I'll try it. Thanks guys! :good:

Just be careful not to spot dose if there is fish nearby or under the plant.

This is how I get rid of the bba..
Mix 25/75 with water.. And empty the tank and spray it with sprayer.. Wait 5 min and put the water back,. It gone in a day... Note it do kill plants if you put too much or too long.
