Flesh Eating Disease?

I usually do water changes every weeek but changed about 4 weeks ago to once every 2 weeks. Also, my fish had no signs of columnaris, but it died last night, and had a few "foggy" patches on its extended fins. Also, it isnt a guppy either.

Sorry type error about the guppy.

The lfs also told me that it looked like a extremely bad case of a bacterial infection and if hte fish dies, get rid of everything else and drain the tank, scrub it, and buy new healthy fish.

Didn't we go through fish tb while ago.

List all the symtoms of the dead and ill fish.

Ulcers that start red then turn fluffy white + finrot = columnaris. Myxazin is meant to be good for that. Melafix or Pimafix won't cut it I'm afraid. More regular water changes and a good bacterial med (eg. the Myxazin) might help, although in my experience columnaris is hard to cure once it's gone that far. It will help the other fish in the tank to treat and keep on top of water changes more often. :good:

Here is about the best pic I can get a the moment.

The fish that died( another swordtail) was just not swimming right, no visibale signs of the cause of death. My angel was in the same tank about a week ago, and she died also, and she quit eating, and after death had a whole bunch of foggy paths on the clear part of her dorsal finn.

Seen them patches before it does look like a bacterial infection.
I had wagtail platys the babies did well, but the ones from the lfs never lasted long.

It isnt a platy!!!!!!!!!!!! It is a swordtail!!!!!!!! I had a male also but he got beat up and died.

Sorry that long since i've kept livebeareres now.

Once livebearers get ill they never seem to recover, mine didn't anway not much go in them.

Then what should I do? I have 3 swords, 2 kribs, 1 pleco, 7 danios, and a dyed fish in there. Does that mean they are all doomed?

What med have you added.
Depends on the strain of the bacteria, and the fish immune system.
