get a malicate based treatment, as it looks like an ulcer.

Also check on ur camera for macro will get a better photo

When you say malicat, can you refer me to a good med. I dont think that my camera has one, but I will try to get a better pic later.

lol thats the i can think of a brand names off hand, and u can get malicate pure in some shops.

myaxizin? something like that in the UK.

It looks like columnaris, you'll need an anti external bacterial med and a fungal one- Pimafix is good as it treats both internal and external bacterial infections as well as fungal ones. Long term salt treatment is not very good for platys, they aren't really evolved to cope with it very well, so you can actually end up just causing the fish more stress in the long term.
What are your recent ammonia, nitrite and nitrate test results? How often are you doing water changes and how much water are you taking out? How many gallons is the tank she is in and what is its stocking? You need to update your profile info as it does not include platys.

It is not a platy! It is a red wag swordtail!!!!!!! The body is to long to be a platy! The nirtaes are zero, The nitrites are zero, the ammonia is zero, and I do water changes evry 2 weeks. Coulmanaris has the symtom of a bent back and this swordtail has no identification of a bent back.

Columnaris does not have the symptom of a bent back- where did you read it did? Sometimes there is a saddleback lession at the base of the dorsal fin, but this is less common and mostly depends on what areas of the fish the desease is affecting. Also you don't need to get so upset, female plays and female swordtails look very similar, my mistake.
Columnaris;

0 nitrates is also suspicious- how planted is the tank? You also need to do water changes on a more regular basis, like once a week.

I usually do water changes every weeek but changed about 4 weeks ago to once every 2 weeks. Also, my fish had no signs of columnaris, but it died last night, and had a few "foggy" patches on its extended fins. Also, it isnt a guppy either.

Ulcers can eat the flesh away, is it pink with a circling of dead skin around the edges.
Was the fish born with a bent spine or did it just happen.

It dosent have a bent back, it was regular. Also, the fish I was talking about was an angel that died, I am confusing myself. The sword is still alive and eating but the sore is getting worse. I am going to have my lfs examine it.

It looks kinda like that, but now it is all white and I am going to get meds from the lfs because I have none( I know, I should always be prepared).

Get your water tested too.
Maracyn one and two, or maracyn plus.

I got some stuff called melafix, which I have used before with great results, so I am hoping this works.
