What do you guys do to maintain your biological filtration in your quarantine tanks when you aren't quarantining anything?

nothing i am not that organised to have one yet but it is "on the list"
HOSPITAL TANK
I'm positive when you do get one m8 it will be better run than are NHS,

Did my first water change/substrate clean today, changed 20% of the water, it all went rather well.

Added some more livestock a bit later. 3 Sterbai corys (I know i need 6, other 3 witll be introduced next week), 3 Assassin snails & a tiny Gold Spot Anistrus L181.

One bit of bad news. One of my cardinals isnt looking too good. Just sitting at bottom of tank by itself while the others shoal. Maybe the water change freaked it out. Fingers crossed it pulls through.

One of my green tiger barbs had a bit of a spasam after a water change, and then spent a couple of days hiding. He seems to be ok now.

All the Cardinals are now back to full health. The 3 corys looked a bit lonely so I got 3 more yesterday. One of them is showing real nice colours already.

The catfish made his first foray onto the front glas of the tank yesteday, much to my daughters delight.

The cardys are still quite timid but I am sure they will get a bit more brave soon.

Looking very impressive m8, do like the colours on your angel :good: . As for your cory's i just love em, i would get some myself but don't have sand.
How have your water parameters been holding up since your cycle?

Keith.

Out of interest do you cardinals tend to stay in the same spot as a group ? Mine seem to be the most unadventurous cardinals ever

they seem to shoal together quite nicely. they didnt when first introduced but are getting brave now.

Keith - The water stats have been rock solid double zero since I first introduced the fish. I am still testing daily, cant seem to leave the test kit alone lol.

I had no choice with the angel colours. My Wife & two toddler daughters chose "him". I think "he" is great looking.

I couldnt get a picture of my catty as he is a bit quick & small at the moment. I think he is camara shy, dont know why, he is a handsome lad.

Your family made a good choice with the Angel :good: . I to have been showing solid zeros, imo fishless seems to be the way forward in regards to creating a stable biofilter. The process can be frustrating at times but if you can hang it out you get the rewards in the end.
