Looking good matey :)

How's the insulation etc standing up in this cold weather? Are you finding that the tanks are holding their temp etc ?!?

Fingers crossed my BN's should bebreeding again soon, the male is back to his old tricks of hangin around outside the entrance to his log ;)

See ya over the Xmas break mate ;)

Looking good!

Wheres the comfy chair to sit and gaze at your fish for hours on end? :D

Ben

lol - i was out there the other night - propped up against the bench enjoying the hum of the filters, watching the fish...

the chair is still in the garage at the moment - I'm looking for a fridge aswell :) then i can keep the bloodworm and veg in it and not have to keep lugging it in and out of the house...

Lorna has only been out to look once since i go the tanks in there - It's definatly my domain :)

I'll be up to no good in there - I could start growing 'plants' on the side :D :D

Andy - Its nice and warm in there - dont want to see what the eleccy bill has gone up by though

Great job, enjoyed looking at this thread, well done.

Smithrc, what kind of plec is that in your sig? It looks like a fish that was sold to me as a BN, but its about 5" or so long, and still not a whisker on him/her. Thanks!
Sean

oddly enough he was sold to us as an ansistrus too (a bristlenose - that was many moons ago before we knew what they looked like)... no-one has ID him definitly - Planet catfish members have suggested he looks like a sailfin / common cross - hes about 10-12" now (about 4" bigger than the piccy) and a lot more reclusive...

Crap, thats what I figured mine was. Either a sailfin or a common. He doesn't look like much of a BN now. Thing is, the largest tank I have is 3 feet long, and all the stores around here are either chains, or I wouldn't sell my worst enemys dog to them. O well. Very nice shed, btw.

Hi Smithrc

What are you using to heat the room?

I am currently looking into heaters at the moment.
The cheapest I have found up to now are the panel heaters. In the Argos book there is one that can be run for approx 1-2p per hour. I think thats about the cheapest? Mind you when you work it out if it is only 1p per hour that x24hrs x365 days per year, which equates to approx £87 per year.

Are you getting any condensation or damp with this cold spell?

Happy New Year to everyone!

at the moment we have a small electric blow heater in there (i was hopeing for an oil filled radiator to materilise from lornas dad but he hasn't found it)

the heater is keeping the shed at about 20º with the tanks running at around 26º. no condensation at the moment (other than in the hoods) the insulation in there is working really well... the shed had an inch of snow on it and it lasted longer than the snow on the houses around it - so the heat isn't going upwards :)
