Fish Going Missing

My computer must be bloody behind everyone elses as there was no posting showing when I put my comment in!!

I returned the featherfin cat fish and the 2 golden panchax the guy in the shop was surprised and actually showed me a tank with a featherfin cat fish and guppies in he says he has never known a feather fin or panchax do that.

He also asked what else I have In the tank so I told him and he seemed to think it could be my 7" algae eater which was also added just recently before the other fish disappeared.

He gave me a full refund and 10 guppies for my trouble so while I was there I grabbed another 4 corys and 4 female mollies lol.

What's you opinions on algae eaters eating guppies ?

I'm new to this but my friend had and it ate some of their fish. But The golden wonder for sure is predatory and I wouldn't have it in with them.

Your algae eater will end up doing a lot of dasmage, lots of.... bits of fish, torn fins, stressed and unhappy and harassed fish... but he wouldnt just eat them whole, he wants the slime off their scales if anything...

The panchax would swallow prey whole, they are very predatory, most surface dwellers are as they hunt insects and small fish as a general rule

Synos can go either way, they are usually the culprit when you have one or two go missing every few months.... but they are also very lazy and would happily have food handed to them on a plate and not have to chase fish LOL

Thanks for the replies. My tank seems alot happier with the panchax and cat fish out of there I also took the Siamese flying fox out and placed him in my other tank until tomorrow when he is also going to the LFS.

Friendly community fish from now on lol
