Finding It Very Hard Not To Buy Fish Again...

I wouldnt keep a trio in anything under 20G. The females seem to have a territory of atleast 10G each and IMO females can be quite aggressive to each other in small tanks.

I'd be arranging it in such a way that the terrtories are roughly symmetrical and would be placing a cave at each opposite end aswell as placing a few distractions in the cetre. I'd also make a concious effort to get two similar sized females and be ready to seperate them if neccesary. If it didn't work then I wouldn't just leave them in there to suffer.

Fair enough. You will need alot of caves and cover i had 2 females and a male in a 15G both the same size and in the first night one of the females had beaten the other one up. So i separated then but it never mad it through the day. So just watch out because it can go wrong in minutes.

I can seperate them in minutes if neccesary and I do appreciate the warning. What apistos imparticular were they?

They where Agassizii which IME have been the most aggressive type ive kept so i would try to avoid them if possible.

I think atm it's likely to be panda or nijsseni if I go with apistos. Or the checker boards if just going with small cichlids.

Still completely open to ideas though... so if anyone wants to through something into the mix I'm all ears.

Ive kept nijsseni and they where very peaceful so they would be a good option.

Is that the agazzii in your avatar? looks great  You got any better/bigger pictures?

Curiosity, get an even bigger tank and get some chocolate gouramis :hey:

Thanks :good: Im gutted though i might have to get rid of him to make room for dwarf pikes and snakeheads unless i cn convince my mum to let me get another tank haha
These are the only good pics of him ive got

Them pics are quite old though. His tail is a bit of a funny shape in that pic but its grown back to a point now.

Argh, this is a nightmare. I was just having a look over stocklists at fish shops and now I've reminded myself how sweet corys are. Not particularly interactive, but I do find them cute and fun to watch. Plus I've never had them in a species only tank...

I never though it would be so hard to just pick one type of fish...

I guess the cichlids still get the 'easiness' vote. In the sense that's I'd only have a pair or trio vs a group of say 6ish...

Just saw this dont know if its any good? http://www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk/php/detail59_182568.php

just found these as well http://www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk/php/detail58_178348.php :)

I had seen that, and although it's a good size... I'm not so sure about the shape. You know cause pretty much everything I'm debating is a bottom dweller...

What would you put in it?

Hmm, having said that if it's the interpet 48l fishpod then it's got around 14 square inches more in the way of floor space... lol.

 He lives just around the corner from my house.... he has panda fry...... not to mention the huge amount of other types of fry...

You do like trying to spend my money don't you wills?

The hongsloi male that the fry came from...
