So after 2 weeks of treating, i changed out 40 gallons of water as the water was looking really murky, rinsed off the filters in tank water, boiled the ornaments and fake plants, gradually lowered temp through out the weekend, drove my fish nuts, and everything should be good. Thanks for all the support. My Angel baby made it and will hopefully live a long and stress free life. I really dont want to have to do that again. It was literally the longest 2 wks of my life.

if u have the water parameters in control, and do weekly water changes, the itch will not show up again - but like many good fishkeepers believe, the wretched thing is always lying about the aquarium somewhere, ready to get back at you.

thats not funny... my water was fine but i had introduced some new fish and i think they might of been caring it. I do weekly water changes of 30 gallons on a 55 gallon tank, so my water parameiters should be fine. good to know thou thanks.

why did you boil the ornaments and fake plants?

I would have guessed so that the ich won't get on them or something?

From what I've read, I understood it to be a parasite which needs to be introduced to your tank my fish or fish water. When you've killed them off and waited for the length of it's life cycle they should be gone for good - unless re-introduced at a later stage.
