The red ones fins have been shredded by a not-so-angelic Angelfish, this happened unnoticed by me in the past few days, poor betta is looking like a vagabond, I noticed he was staying behind a fake plant most fo the time and only stuck to that side of the tank even when going up for air or food, and then I saw the fins in tatters and teheAngel or should I say Devilfish taunting him from time to time, the poor betta never reacted.

While my first betta that I had quarantined in a bowl due to constipation has lost the swollen belly by fasting and a diet of peas but its upper body fin has collapsed and now just lags limply like a ribbon with its brilliant silky colours chnaging shades under different light conditions.

I seperated the red and put it in the bowl, and the bowl one back into the tank, the Angel started attacking that one two but after a while the betta started snapping back at it, initially betta was a bit taken aback and was acting timid, the red one meanwhile is now showing his aggresiveness whenever he sees the black one swin by in the tank.

excuse me but WHY ON EARTH are you housing male bettas with an angel fish? esp when you know the angel fish has attitude. I dont know how you can just expect it all to go well, I felt sickened at what I just read and I'm not surprised this is all going on, get them in their own tanks seperately and stop doing the "PRETTY FISHES SHOULD ALL LIVE TOGETHER" thing.

Sorry to sound rude but BLIMEY dont people ever listen?

The fish seller told me its okay to keep them all together, also the Gold Fish fins have been nipped dont know if angel or betta did it.

not only should you not keep an angel and betta together, but they are also in with a goldfish??

goldfish are cold water, the other two are warm water. would love to know the temp of your tank?

GOLDFISH!!!!!! I'm not even going to bother anymore with this thread, its a nightmare!!

If he told you to run under a bus would you? Without meaning to sound horrible maybe its for the best if you re home your fish. Spend alot of time reading and listening to what people say before trying again. If you at least had basic knowledge of bettas you would know not to put them with anything else,,,let alone an angel fish. Why on earth didn't you ask on here first????? Why not read through all the pinned threads if you really care about the fish? We were all new fishkeepers at one time but through listening to advise and doing research we know the definate no no's

We had someone in the shop at the weekend who had been told by an LFS to 'just rinse his filters under the tap' He wondered why over the last year his fish kept dieing, he kept going to the shop and replacing them,,they died again. Instead of thinking i have a problem i'll research it it just continued.

You MUST learn by this and not take everything you are told as true.

GOLDFISH!!!!!! I'm not even going to bother anymore with this thread, its a nightmare!!
That's not the half of it Daz.... He came in here a couple weeks ago saying he had these fish in a 5 GALLON. If i remember correctly an Angel, Betta, Goldfish, and a Plec (2 betta males at one point too i believe).

Goldfisher.....

I TOLD YOU TO SEPARATE THE FISH FROM THAT TANK IMMEDIATELY AS NOTHING YOU WERE DOING WAS COMPATIBLE. YOU F****ING KNEW. QUIT PLAYING DUMB.

You are quite possibly the dumbest person I have come across on these forums. You had many many many warnings and cautions that what you were doing was VERY detrimental to your fish. Yet you chose to disregard it. Now that you are having problems, you play dumb and expect help?

Solution:
Take the fish back to the petstore and never attempt to keep fish again. You are incapable handling this responsibility. You are apparently incapable of following instructions as well.

Moron...... I feel sorry for your fish. That really enrages me. It would be understandable if you were new (even then it was ridiculous that you didnt have common sense), but now it is entirely unacceptable.

edit.... The first topic is where I (and many others) told you about your problem. The following topics are where other people have attempted to get through to you:
http://www.fishforums.net/content/forum/25...a-Price-Range-/
http://www.fishforums.net/content/forum/24...With-Goldfish-/
http://www.fishforums.net/content/forum/25...-For-Cat-Fish-/

http://www.fishforums.net/content/forum/24...Often-To-Feed-/

Not only have you disregarded people telling you the goldfish would not work in the tank.... you went and got MORE fish.

Oh well let him/her carry on, I've read through the posts and there is no hope at all in convincing the OP, poor fish!!!!!!!!!

What an ill mannered person, I didnt attack you personally ever nor had any exchnages with th you one on one then how dare you address me this way over some fish, different I had abused you or said something mean to expect such a reaction.

I cannot afford to keep my fish like human beings, the Gold fish I rescued and put in tank from bowl, I am still reeling with guilt over the loss of the first angel that I had saved with the gold but it didnt survive due to my own mistake in not getting a tank for them in time, the too I would not have gotten anything bigger than 15 gallons.

I'm, not a hard core hobbyist, I will never invest in an 80 gallon tank or keep multiple tanks for the fish that I have, not can I afford to waste so much water or money living in a third world country, you migt be having that luxury but we have to think twice before doing such things.

if you have to think twice about these things, why did you go out and buy fish in the first place, or take on someone elses when you couldnt afford to? perhaps it may be suitable if you try to rehome all but the single male betta and see how you do with just him, then maybe in the future if your financial situation permits it, you could expand onto something bigger

you came here for help and we tried, boy have we tried giving you help and advice which you clearly did not even listen to let alone take note of, which has led you to the situation you are now in.

do whats right and rehome the other fish if you cannot look after them properely.

people here are very passionate about fish and do not treat them as throw away commodities, more like they treat them as part of the family. Hence why so many people are so angry with you.

please go back through yor threads and read the advice, then try and resolve your problem

if your not able to commit to getting bigger tanks for the angelfish, pleco, and goldfish then return them all to a pet shop and just keep the betta
