Hi,

Is is possible to over filter a tank.

I have just procured a Jewel Trigon 180. I am using the internal filter that came with it. I then added a external filter (Eheim 2213) which claims 440 l/hr and I also have a small Fluval 1 internal filter.

I took one of the fliter pads out of our small tank that has been establihed for a few months and put that in the filter set up in the Trigon to speed up the cycle process. Does it?

I am planning a community tank lots of small active fish.

Is it possible to over filter a tank? If this is so, am I?

Thanks

Frank

Overfiltration is a good thing - it ensures clearer water.

The only worry is water flow. If the water movement in the tank is keeping the fish from using significant portions of the tank you'll want to tone it down some.
