I've been paying off a 125 gallon tank on layaway, and after asking around I decided on an Eheim 2217 Classic canister filter coupled with an Aquaclear 110 HOB filter.
Tomorrow my LFS is having a massive sale and I am hoping to get a 220 Gallon tank for less than I was going to pay for the 125 gallon.
Am I correct in assuming the eheim + the aquaclear will be inadequate for the 220? What about the eheim + 2 x aquaclear 110s?
These are the other options at my LFS:
Fluval FX5 Up to 400 Gallons, 924 GPH turnover
Rena Filstar XP4-XL Up to 265 Gallons, 450 GPH turnover
Cascade 1500 Up to 200 Gallons, 350 GPH turnover
These 3 are all canisters. The cascade is probably inadequate. The cascade and the rena and much cheaper than the fluval.
Does anyone have any experience with the fluval or rena filters?
Thanks. Going to be at the store when they open to try and get the 220 gallon tank.
