Hi.

I live in sheffield in england. The water is realy clean and 6.5ph straight from the tap. I'm getting a 200ltr and was wondering if i would need to use an r/o unit?

What are the hardness and nitrate like?

Depends on the fish you're planning on keeping mate. The majority of fish do fine in plain dechlorinated water. With that kind of ph though you need to ensure fish don't require an akaline ph so Tanganyikan and Malawi/Mbuna are probably out of the equation straight away. Most American and new world cichlids, tetras etc will thrive in a ph of 6.5

That sounds like lovely water, I don't think you need bother with an RO unit; there's nothing in there to take out!

Same as my water here. I set up an mbuna tank and raised the Ph to 7.5 using a natural buffer.
