When I search for bio gravel on eBay, all I can find is several listings for Biohome bio gravel by seller fish-tank-matt. Is that the one you mean? This stuff -

Does the Rio come with Cirax or just sponges? Cirax will do exactly the same job as the Biohome biogravel; if the filter comes with it, just use that and don't spend money on something extra when Cirax will do the same.
If it doesn't come with Cirax, again I wouldn't bother. Sponges are an excellent medium; that's all I have in my filters.
