I suggest holding a tray of media in each hand then moving it around in the water while you use your tongue to agitate the surface of the water. Obviously you cannot stop doing this so you will need a caring family member to feed you.

Thing is, he's a very knowledgeable aquarist, so if it doesn't make sense, he's having a giggle. If it does make sense, it's usually spot-on.

I was expecting that to be utterly rubbish, but in actual fact, its quite a nice little DIY project. The only issue i have with anything air powered, is the noise it makes, otherwise i would probably have a crack at making a few of these myself. but, that said, for £12 i can buy an internal electric filter to do the same job....so on second thoughts....i probably wouldn't

that the only reason I wont have one aswell cause my air pump is quite noisy cause i sleep 4 feet away from and have to turn it off at night, the person who makes this uses these in nearly all his tanks in his shop as they are all individualy filtred. and thats the only place I get fish now as they are always healty except 1 gourami that was dead in a quarintine tank with gourami diesea thing and thats the only dead fish I have ever seen there.
