F3 P14

no big deal to you that they are F3 but in the ray world its important as the p14 gene pool is small

p14 are not like your average leopoldi or motoro they are more rare

its not like other fish were they have 100s of fry it has taken me 6 years to get this far

and captive bred rays are important as it means we don't need to take anymore from the wild

its just amazing something like this can happen in such a over stocked badly maintained tank dont you think

Iam with you there mate, It feel's good to know you can breed something which is difficult or has yet to have bred in captivity, Atleast it leave's the stock in the river's and gives it time to replenish, shame they died but as you said she might have just been a bit to young and body was not fully developed internally, but next time she now has age and exsperience on her side<and your's>
Mate it's great news all the same and congratulation's :good:

many congratulations on your achievment, on the other hand, sorry for your loss and i wish you all the luck in the world for next time, if anyone can, you can! :)

and helps to maybe one day bring the price of these fish down and make them more reasily available. Good luck I say and its fishkeepers like you who give something back and help protect the wild stocks!! :good:

shame they didnt make it but just looking at the pics you can see they were far from ready to come out
maybe having 2 pups the first time round was too much for her
like you say at least you know that they are gonna work as a pair
next time should be fine and you can probably expect 2 or maybe 3 pups

the male is a beauty so many spots
good luck
