Have you ever had an allergic reaction to bloodworms or brine shrimp? Well I have, and it wasn't pretty. Picture Rocky yelling "YO ADRIAN !". That's what my eyes looked like :X shortly after unknowingly rubbing them after feeding my fish bloodworms.

Lesson I Learned: Wash your hands after handling fish food or you will go to the hospital emergency and end up paying a $100 insurance deductible. :grr:

I'm not a doctor, but I play one on this forum.
If this ever happens to you, I would recommend Benadryl (or it's equivalent).

BTW, my freeze dried bloodworms and brine shrimp container read, Please Note: This package contains natural products to which some people may have allergic reactions. Sure, now I read it!

EDIT: spell check

I have heard of people getting bacteria in cuts when they fix plants in their tanks but not fish food allergies! I am happy that I have the frozen bloodworms, then I can just pop them out like ice cubes. I am allergic to everything so I wouldn't be surprised if I was allergic to fish food.

Heya :)

Bloodworm allergy is pretty common - however most people never realise they have it, as msot of the population don't handle bloodworm ona regular basis. ;) On some bloosworm-based food i have, it cautions that you should wash your hands after using it, for this very reason. :)

Most people have never heared of Tank rash, or fishkeeper disease. It is not that dealy but does hurt alot and can be hard to kill.
