I am glad your taking the red back and maybe a few tetras would have been lost but in my experience I still think the red would soon be dead if you had not taken him back. That was my experience of them anyway I salmost felt they were stroppy fighting fish and eventually lost. I do have one Golden Gouramis that I have but never liked either they are bosses of the community remind me of the bad old woman in the street.

I am notorious for thinking that fish have characters.

My barbs were like fish wives gossiping to each other all the time never really relaxed.

The best fish are Plecs they are so peaceful I just wish they did not grow to the size they do.

The good news is I haven't lost any fish!
Thanks for the advice! Would you recommend any particular type of plec? I really can't fit a common. Lol

Ye I really like BN plecs but I only have a 20 gallon tank

What about catfish I have been given two Pimelodus Pictus and they are real cool.

WAIT SOMEONE may say they are not compatable but are real swell.
Otos are cool too.

oooh nice! I want a zebra oto! Would they be ok with the honey gourami and the blood fin tetras?

They grow to 12.5 cm Golden gouramis is 12.5 cm too

Well thanks guys for all the help!
Went down to the LFS today and saw really nice panda cories!... under quarantine
But then I saw the albino corys!

I got one ( hopefully I'll get him a few friends) and he's great!

On second thoughts though it probably wasn't the best idea getting a fish the exact same colour as my gravel!

why stop there? why not ban oscars, mbu, arrowana, and anything else that starts small and gets big?

You must have a male gourami.... my females are quite peaceful.

The best fish are Plecs they are so peaceful I just wish they did not grow to the size they do.

The best fish i've ever owned are Synodontis Catfish. they are so peaceful its remarkable, they dont bother a soul, they just cruise around enjoying life.
