Doesnt Look Like A Match Made In Heaven

know what you mean - it hasnt happened to just yet to this extent but sometimes you look at the tank and somethings not quite right with it...and once the idea is there its hard to stop it!

my mrs is a big influence on this as everytime she says thats a boring fish i start to doubt my choice! thank fully she ok'd the current ones!!

will watch the new setup with interest. im just starting out with SA's so no change of mind for me, but some of the african tanks you see look incredible. what are the plans for ronnie and reggie?

Why not try something like a big community of Asian fish try something that's not cichlids. When I look at my 100gal I think how fun it would be if it was filled with little active fish all doing there own thing. Maybe try barbs with loaches and gouramis or wild bettas.

Cichlids are cichlids no matter where they are from. I would try a differant type of tank all together if I were you.

@ kavaiagi il still be poping in here regularly to see all your fish . i still love new worlds im just bored of keeping them

@ njstockley yeah once that bug sets in the outcome is usually inevitible. as for ronnie and reggie ive found them a home with my sisters boyfriend , pending me checking his tank for suitability . if not il try and find them another home , worst case scenario ive sounded out the shop and they are willing to take them back , altho that will be the last resort.

@ snowflake . ive always wanted a crack at africans . the sheer colour and variety of species is mind boggling .ever since ive been keeping fish i have always drooled over pics of african cichlids plus with having to use certain substrates to help buffer the water , needing to be a lot more carefull what you mix etc it appeals to the side of me that likes to be met with a certain amount of challenge. plus i really enjoy learning something new . as for non cichlids . if i ever went down the non cichlid route with this tank it would have to be a large scale heavilly planted community tank with big shoals etc , but id want to do it on a smaller scale and learn a bit cheaper 1st .

mark you can't finish the oscars untill you have kept a large one in my opinion small oscars are nothing compared to a near fully grown adult

its not about the size of the fish mate , its a combination of not wanting to watse a 100g tank on 2 fish , and of being fed up with new worlds after having kept nothing but for the last 3 years . i need a new challenge .
