Doesnt Look Like A Match Made In Heaven

il pm you a link to the site i got the flash from above idea from as its another forum so i cant name it here

shame mark as you seemed so keen on these two!

seen the thread in the african cichlid section - is that for another tank or are you saying goodbye to the oscars?

long story lol . undecided at the moment . im in 1 of those dont know what i want states. a big part of the hobby im getting really into now is aquatic photography . im about to set up an overhead flash setup specificly for fish photography and to be honest theres only so much you can do with just 2 fish in a tank photography wise. plus the missus would be more interested in the tank if it was all breathtaking colour and loads of activity . and shes said if i wanted to do an mbuna tank shes willing to give me a fat wad of cash to set it up . that combined with the more exciting aquatic photography possibilities i must admit im finding extremely hard to resist. also im getting towards thinkng that just being fully stocked with 2 fish is a kind of a waste of a big tank . but nothing is set in stone yet im just doing some research .

you sound like me!! lol

I kept my two larger oscars in an oddball community and had no issues at all only with a synspilum and a pike I added, all other non cichlids were fine with them

why don;t you go for some oddballs with them once these two have grown up a bit

i think if i do change anything mate its gonna be mbuna . always loved those colours. see this is why ineed multiple big tanks :hyper:

its funny cos if you saw a couple of my posts last night I was saying the same about african lake cichlids!!! definately an itch I want to scratch

You need ointment for all this itching

Dont give up on them yet, I dont think Mbuna will do 'it' for you, just my personal opinion, but apart from being colourful they're not interactive like NW cichlids are.

tbh mags im as good as decided . pretty much all ive ever kept is new worlds i think i need a change of direction , im just not enjoying watching my tank these days . i feed it clean it etc but thats it . i dont enjoy it any more . i keep looking at the tank thinking what a waste of a 100g tank when youre fully stocked with 2 fish. ive always fancied african cichlids in general , particularly mbuna , so im gonna have some fun with my tank and fill it with colour and activity .

+1 Theyre as boring as hell. :zz Not interactive at all

been there done that , i need a change

Definitely sounds like you need 2 tanks...one as you have for clever interactive wet pets and another for a big colourful mbuna collection...or get one massive tank and have a big colourful CA collection :) (like Lee Nuttall has: http://www.youtube.com/user/lee1973n)

edit: I see you have a thread for mbuna stock choices already, good luck with it all...see you in here when you decide to go NW again :)
