Does betta need lights during breeding

I have seen some people who keep bettas in small circular plastic pot and they cover it. And they remove cover after 2 days. So how they breed in dark or they can see in dark?

I am pretty sure they can see a little in the dark, kind of like us. But i think they would prefer a light.

Bettas have limited eye sight in low lit conditions and can't see anything when the tank is totally blacked out. So t

here's no reason to put Bettas in complete darkness for 2 days. They do need a dark tank for sleeping but they should have light during the day.​
