Although they aren't against it and are, in fact talking about getting their own tank (My Mother loves Angel fish and is v.jealous I'm getting some.) they think I am somewhat nuts. Not so keen on my latest addition, being the 55G. I shall break the news gently to her that angels in reasonable numbers would need a 55g anyway.
I've yet to mention I really would like one twice it's size. :shifty: And some smaller ones for Endlers, quarantine and bettas. :D
Hugs,
P.
P.S:Ought to point out I don't live with my parents. This is my home with my kids. They love the fish but I am the sole carer for them.

I voted yes - my husband is fully supportive and likes to look at th fish too and come mooching around at lfs, dissapears when it comes to water change night though -_-

My family started out supportive but after I started spending hours at a time on TFF that soon disapated. Fortunately I found a girl friend  who is really into fish and I get support from her, too bad I dont have any fish right now, lol.

My girlfriend is to a point, so is her family. Mine is 500 miles away so they don't really count about it.

Lol,My mom doesn't suport my fish addiction at all but my dad does...My rom is so paced with tanks and all that you can't even getaround she hates it but that dfoesn't stop me

My husband supports me. My friends have followed me into the hobby. My parents just don't understand. But then they don't understand a lot of what I do. I love not living at home. :D

My family and friends think I'm nuts, but my parents tolerate it pretty well. I think they've just given up
It helps that they found out a few of their friends used to raise bettas and keep oscars in college

My parents are pretty supportive, not giving me the amounts of money I'd like but.... hey can't complain. Oh and My dad has called me "Fish boy" on a few occasions.

My family tollerates it as long as the fishies are swimming contently and nothing needs to be done. If I need to medicate my tank or have a mini cycle, I am constantly told how out of control this is getting (I only plan to have 3 tanks, a 20 gal, a 10 gal, and a 5 gal). However, my dad can't even understand why I need to do weekly water changes. These now get done when he is out of the house

My parents don't mind fish, as long as i have just the one aquarium because "We don't live in a Zoo". My uncles, aunties, cousins, grandparents + all other family members i havn't mentioned all love watching the fish, some of them have even started asking me about helping set up aquariums at their house.

My friends have no problem with them apart from the making the occasional joke

I could say that my husband is more than tolerant, the tanks are really starting to grow on him. I think he is looking forward to setting up a bigger tank so we can get some friends for the goldfish

My cats get very jealous.

my parents support my fish keeping hobby, my dad gets well excited when i come in with new fish. my mum prefers them for the looks of the tank in the room

my girlfriend thinks i am nuts lol but still is interested in hearing my fish stories  and if i move in with her she better get used to it lol
