So I'm starting my tank from scratch, literally from the top to the bottom apart from keeping my filter material cycled, and now I've come to the point where I'm looking at substrate, now I've been advised on the planted forum to go for a thin base layer of Tropica Plant Growth, now I'm looking for a sand to go on top seperated with some greenhouse mesh. I've been pointed in the direction of Unipacs range of sand and I've narrowed it down to the Fiji Fine or Aquarium Silica Sand.
Now I'm pretty sure I know that both will be suitable but I'm planning on having Corys in my new setup and know that sand is pretty much a necessity for them to thrive, however there's a small difference in sand size of the two types I listed, Fiji Fine is 1000-2000µ while the Silica Sand is 800-1000µ, to me it's hard to know whether Fiji Fine would be suitable without actually looking at it.
Like I said I'm pretty certain Fiji Sand will be fine but best to double check, any comments would be appreciated, thanks.
